Day 24 of Creativity Challenge - "Midnight In Paradise". Lovely black paper from Ricardo, my dear neighbour downstairs, and neon/metallic acrylics.
I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do today - had a pretty long day! I had this shift, I believe after the full moon and getting back from San Fran, and all of a sudden I'm all like so inspired to get my home organized, cleaned, decorated, unpacked, etc. We've been here since Nov and nothing is yet up on the walls, still got some stuff in boxes etc.. I'm ready to just really make it OURS, make it home, ya know? Anyway, took an Ikea trip today, which is great and draining lol. I had ice cream and half a cinnamon bun though so it was all worth it. :D I also have been cleaning, going through old stuff, letting stuff go. All has been very challenging but good. Doing my best to DIY a lot of stuff for our place and find things that aren't super expensive. I've been working on not being upset that right now I am not able to buy the things from stores or brands or artists I love for my home, but learning that I can use these things for inspiration and get creative and figure it out with my budget. Since I practically moved out from a kinda furnished apartment and went right on the road back in 2009, this is the first time in my life I'm having a chance to really make a home for myself, since I've been here, so it's been new and challenging. I just have to remind myself it just takes time. Slowly but surely.
I remembered the new black paper I had and felt that jolt of inspiration and excitement the second I thought of neon and metallics on it. I sat on the couch as Fred watched TV and I saw the gorgeous peonies I posted a picture of a few days ago. I decided to use their beauty as inspiration for this painting. I call this "Midnight In Paradise". And I'm absolutely in love with it.
Sooooo much love to y'alls. Again, I can't thank you enough for all the love and support. It's such an amazing feeling to have such a great community here. Let me know if you have any requests or suggestions as the 30 day challenge is nearing the end...😭 I'll start sharing some pics of home projects soon...hopefully... :).
