I'm grateful for teachers that show up just when you need them. For relaxation without guilt. For the golden glow at magic hour that streams through my apartment window this time of year.
For my body, my health. For having a safe place to call home. Among many other things.
It's so easy to get caught up in the things I want, I'm striving for, the stress and worry and fear. The voices. Practicing gratitude has helped me navigate through depression and can snap me out of a downward spiral when nothing else seems to work. After years of trying to find a ways to deal, this is one of the things that has really helped. Best thing is - it's a practice. It's like a muscle. The more we work it out, the stronger it gets.
